The room of deep silence

Nieddu, in Sardinian, means black. It is the colour that contains all others, of the welcoming night, of the protecting silence.

It is a double room on the third floor, with large windows overlooking the surrounding countryside, a bathroom with shower, decorated floors and a frescoed ceiling.

This turret was once a grain store, then a refuge for children’s games. Today it is a room that looks out into the distance – towards the sea of Oristano, Gennargentu and Montiferru – and lets light in from every side.

It is the room of the horizon and of listening – where every direction becomes meditation and every shadow becomes light.
